In order to further promote the implementation of the "Belt and Road Initiative", serve the national strategic needs and the high-quality social and economic development of ethnic minority areas, comprehensively expand the new fields of vocational education opening to the outside world, and enhance the international influence of Tongren Vocational and Technical College, under the organization of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, from July 12 to 19, Yang Haiying, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the College, led 6 people from the College of Agriculture, the College of Medicine and the Foreign Affairs Office to participate in the first "Walking the Silk Road" and "Empowering the Silk Road" activities of the Silk Road Workshop Platform, and went to Nepal and Malaysia to carry out vocational education exchange and cooperation, free medical treatment, agricultural skills training and material donation activities.
On July 12, the team and Counselor Du Xiaolin from the International Department of the CPC Central Committee flew to Nepal from Chengdu. On the afternoon of the same day, they went to kavrastsli village in Kathmandu to carry out training on crop disease and pest control technology for local farmers. They gave patient guidance and answered questions on ecological planting technology, seed selection and cultivation, cultivation and cultivation technology of crops. In the field, farmers were instructed to properly hang the trap board, which was praised by local farmers. From 13th to 14th, under the cooperation of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee and local political parties and related associations in Nepal, the team went to Bhagang Durbar Square to provide free medical check-ups and medical care services for more than 300 local people, gave careful guidance according to individual physical conditions and living habits, and donated 20,000 insect traps and 300 food and oil packs to local people. During their stay in Nepal, the team also visited Olgapuri Vocational School in Nepal and carried out the "Empowering Silk Road" activity and the vocational education technical cooperation matchmaking meeting to explore the vision of vocational education cooperation and exchange. Aloft Hotel negotiates with local Nepalese enterprises and signs school-enterprise cooperation framework agreements with three agricultural enterprises.
On July 15, the team flew from Nepal to Malaysia to continue the series of activities of the "Silk Road Workshop" platform. With the strong support and cooperation of local political parties and MCA and other associations, the activities were carried out smoothly. From July 16 to 19, the team conducted free medical consultations for more than 500 local people at the Sarawak United Party Headquarters, Vintan Fishing Village and Tun Razak Town, Kuala Lumpur, and distributed 1,500 medicine kits and 200 T-shirts. During the stay in Malaysia, the team successively went to Sarawak Institute of Technology, Laman Vocational College of Kuala Lumpur, Tanjung Malim and other places to carry out exchanges and cooperation matchmaking meetings. On vocational education exchanges and cooperation with Malaysia Sarawak Institute of Technology, Raman Vocational and Technical College, i-CATS University, UCSI University, Carsome Academy, Asia-Pacific University of Science and Technology, TMC College conducted in-depth exchanges, and exchanged views with Tanjong Malim Agriculture Bureau on agricultural exchanges and cooperation.
This Silk Road Workshop activity fully reflects the responsibility and responsibility of China's higher vocational education. Tonren Vocational Institute has practiced the concept of "Belt and Road" cultural exchange with practical actions, and promoted the mutual understanding between the people of China and Nepal, which has been reported by more than 20 Chinese and foreign media such as China News Network, Xinhua News Agency, Kentipur Newspaper in Nepal, and Shihua Daily in Malaysia. In the next step, the College will continue to deepen international cooperation in vocational education and contribute to the construction of the "Belt and Road" vocational education.
