On July 18, the event distributed Chinese medicines to local people

On the morning of July 18, in Tun Razak Town, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the "Walk the Silk Road" activity was held, attracting hundreds of local people to participate. Tan Lijuan, a medical worker from Tongren Vocational and Technical College in Guizhou, China, was checking the blood pressure of local people at the event when she noticed an unbandaged wound on the palm of an elderly man's hand. She quickly asked the old man about his injuries, and carefully put a Band-aid on him. Tan Lijuan said that they had just finished their activities in the Malaysian state of Sarawak on the 17th and "opened" in Kuala Lumpur. Tan Lijuan said that most of the people who come to check up are the elderly and people in remote rural areas, and it is not convenient to see a doctor at ordinary times. Physical examination to help them find blood pressure, heart and other aspects of health risks, "very popular among people, especially the elderly."

Tan Lijuan also showed reporters the medicine packages brought by the "Walking Silk Road" activity to the people of the countries. The medicine packages distributed at the scene included Chinese small medicines such as cooling oil, muscle and bone patch, and Yunnan Baiyao Band-Aid.
Kumar, a local resident, excitedly picked up his medicine package after undergoing a basic medical check-up. Kumar told reporters that he is no stranger to cooling oil, because many local Chinese friends are using it. "good, good, these drugs are very useful," Kumar told reporters with a smile as he rubbed ointment on his arm.
During the day's activity, not only free medical check-ups and Chinese medicine kits were welcomed by the local people, but also free optometry services and daily necessities such as reading glasses and magnifying glasses were also well received. Many local people told reporters that these goods and services are particularly suited to their daily needs. According to the person in charge of the event, this is also the characteristic of "Walking the Silk Road" - focusing on "small and beautiful" livelihood projects, cooperating with political parties of various countries, "Friends of the Silk Road" clubs, etc., to provide people in Southeast Asia and South Asia with free medical check-ups, medical care, optometry, electrical appliance maintenance and other services for the convenience of the people.
According to reports, the "Walking Silk Road" activity is one of the five brand activities under the "Silk Road Workshop" platform. The Silk Road Workshop is a new platform for practical cooperation and people-to-people exchanges between China and Southeast and South Asian countries. The "Silk Road Workshop" platform coordinates the resources of local governments, universities, enterprises and public institutions in China, and carries out exhibitions and exchange activities with Southeast Asian and South Asian countries, such as technical skills training, serving the people, short-term and long-term study abroad, and corporate cultural cooperation.

The Silk Road Workshop was held in Malaysia from July 16 to 19. Related events were held in Sarawak, Malaysia from July 16 to 17, with the attendance of Sarawak Deputy Prime Minister Shen Kwai Yin and a number of local political party representatives. Shen Guixian commented at the event site that the "Silk Road Workshop" activities go deep into the grassroots and directly serve the people, and look forward to the "Silk Road Workshop" more into Malaysia.

According to Chinese people, the "Silk Road Workshop" also held the "Enabling Silk Road" activity and vocational education cooperation matchmaking meeting in Sarawak and Kuala Lumpur. Chinese institutions and organizations such as Beijing Vocational College of Electronic Science and Technology, Beijing Commercial School, Guizhou Tongren Vocational and Technical College and Generation Z Vocational Education Cloud Platform exchanged with many Malaysian institutions to conduct in-depth discussions on vocational education exchanges and cooperation. The "Enabling Silk Road" platform, which focuses on vocational skills training, is focusing on training technical talents needed for the development of Southeast Asian and South Asian countries.
