Deepening practical exchanges and cooperation to promote regional development and prosperity
--Dialogue between the Communist Party of China and political parties of Southeast and South Asian countries was held in Nanning
Yang Yifu, reporter of Guangming Daily
The Dialogue between the Communist Party of China and Political Parties of Southeast and South Asian Countries, co-sponsored by the Foreign Liaison Department of the CPC Central Committee and the CPC Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Committee, was held in Nanning on September 9. With the theme of "strengthening political party cooperation and seeking economic development", more than 300 leaders of more than 40 political parties, heads of youth organizations and government representatives from Southeast and South Asian countries attended the meeting by video link, and about 30 senior diplomats from Southeast and South Asian countries attended the meeting on site. The dialogue also adopted the "Joint Initiative of the Communist Party of China and the Political Parties of Southeast and South Asian Countries Dialogue".
Song Tao, Minister of the Foreign Liaison Department of the CPC Central Committee, focused on the great achievements made by China since the 18th CPC National Congress under the strong leadership of the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core. He said that the current century of changes and the epidemic of the century are intertwined, and the region is facing new challenges to its development. China, as the largest economy in the region, has always been committed to injecting more stability and certainty into regional development. The CPC is willing to take this dialogue meeting as an opportunity to strengthen strategic communication with political parties in the region, focus on the main line of development, play the role of the "Belt and Road" political party consultation mechanism and other platforms, and help the region in economic development, poverty alleviation and reduction, epidemic prevention and control, youth interaction and other areas of practical cooperation, so as to inject new momentum into regional development and make new contributions to the well-being of the people of the region. We hope that political parties in the region will work closely together and make new contributions to the well-being of the people of the region. We hope that political parties in the region will work closely together to uphold multilateralism, maintain regional peace and stability, development and prosperity, resolutely oppose the intervention of external forces in the region's internal affairs, and join hands to build a community of human destiny.
Working together to fight the epidemic and seek common development
Bambang, Vice President of the Indonesian Professional Group Party and Chairman of the People's Consultative Assembly, said that the New Coronary Pneumonia epidemic is threatening public health security, weakening national development achievements, slowing economic growth, and even plunging us into a recessionary slump. The current situation has made more and more people realize the importance of strengthening international cooperation and defending multilateral mechanisms to solve global problems, and strengthening coordination and cooperation will always be the keynote of international relations. As members of the global village, we are divided by distances and borders, and our cultures are different, but this does not prevent us from being closely connected and united under the same vision and goal of achieving an orderly, peaceful and harmonious world.
Sin La Vong, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and Chairman of the Central Committee of the Front for National Construction, said that the Lao People's Revolutionary Party has always insisted on strengthening friendly cooperation with political parties, governments and social organizations of various countries, especially the various cooperation under the framework of the Dialogue between the Communist Party of China and the political parties of Southeast Asian and South Asian countries. The Lao People's Revolutionary Party firmly believes that as long as the political parties of Southeast and South Asian countries maintain close collaboration with the CPC and firmly support multilateralism and free trade, they will be able to promote the economic and social development of their respective countries and successfully deal with various risk challenges such as climate change, transnational crime, terrorism and the New Coronary Pneumonia epidemic.
Dimshina, Chairman of the Rajya Sabha of Nepal, said that Southeast Asia and South Asian countries are not only geographically close to each other, but also have very close economic, social, cultural and religious ties, and each country is facing the same difficulties and challenges. As the region becomes increasingly interconnected, no country can face the challenges of the epidemic alone, and there is a need to strengthen cross-regional exchanges in multiple areas to promote post-epidemic economic recovery and sustainable development. In an interdependent international order, inter-country cooperation is indispensable to achieve post-epidemic economic recovery, promote infrastructure development and boost employment. Therefore, the dialogue among regional political parties should be strengthened to jointly promote regional cooperation.
Oppose politicization of virus traceability
At present, the New Coronavirus epidemic is still the focus of attention of all political parties in the region, and guests from different countries generally expressed their gratitude to China for its assistance in fighting the epidemic and its efforts in international cooperation against the epidemic, while expressing their opposition to the politicization of the traceability of the New Coronavirus.
Bayazid Kasi, advisor of Pakistan JMP's cooperation with the Communist Party of China, pointed out that all countries around the world should recognize China's achievements in the fight against the epidemic, and that China has not only contained the epidemic at home, but also provided respirators, vaccines and other anti-epidemic materials to many countries around the world, including Pakistan. However, instead of focusing on fighting the epidemic in their own countries and protecting the lives and health of their people, individual countries are busy fabricating conspiracy theories and disinformation against China. Such disinformation will not have a market in the international community because everyone knows what the truth is.
Bendiito Freitas, Vice President of the National Congress for the Reconstruction of Timor-Leste (CNRT) and former Ambassador to China, said that the tracing of the new coronavirus is a scientific issue that should not be politicized and should be led only by scientists. What countries should do is to cooperate in the fight against the global epidemic based on the principles of science, professionalism and solidarity, and to share the most effective experience and methods to control the epidemic and promote global economic and social recovery.
Kim Rieti, member of the Central Committee of the Cambodian People's Party, Standing Committee of the Central Youth Working Group, and Minister of Foreign Liaison and Cooperation, pointed out that China has cooperated closely with Cambodia in the fight against the epidemic, from the support of medical experts and the sharing of experience in the fight against the epidemic to the donation of vaccines for Cambodia by the Health Silk Road Project, which has increased the accessibility of vaccines for the Cambodian people, which testifies to China's commitment to build a community of human destiny together. Cambodia's regional achievements against the epidemic could not have been achieved without the professional support, medical supplies and vaccines provided by China.
Strengthening youth exchanges and interactions to unite future leaders
As Thailand's Pheu Thai Party Deputy Chief Gidira Naranon said, "The new momentum and prospects of the region require us to provide a good environment for the 'Generation Z' to play their full role." For the first time, the dialogue included youth cooperation as an important topic and held the "Gathering Youth Power for New Prospects after the Epidemic - 'Generation Z' Leadership Forum", inviting heads of national youth organizations, political party youth talent cadres and others to participate in the forum. They discussed the new challenges and needs of youth work under the epidemic, created new areas and platforms for youth cooperation, and worked together on new dynamics and prospects for regional cooperation, which brought together youth power and injected new vitality into regional economic development.
Comrade in charge of the Liaison Department of the Central People's Government introduced the International Public Administration Master's Program for Future Leaders of Southeast and South Asia in China for young leaders, the Study Tour and Training Program in China for young politicians, and the "Generation Z" vocational education cooperation cloud platform and the "Generation Z" program for young people, especially the "Generation Z". The "Generation Z" vocational education cooperation cloud platform and the "Journey to China" cultural experience program will be launched in the near future. At the same time, it was pointed out that in recent years, "political parties + local", "political parties + poverty alleviation", "political parties + anti-epidemic" and other "political parties +" cooperation models have been developing. "We are willing to further expand it to the field of youth cooperation and help the regional youth, especially the "Generation Z", to achieve better development.
The Deputy President of MCA and Head of Youth Group, Wang Xiao Ting, pointed out that MCA's previous cooperation with China was mainly in the field of trade and economy, and hoped that young people could have more direct contact with other countries in the field of high technology. In the exchange between Malaysia and China, the exchange between the youth is very important. Young people are the future of the country, and a better exchange between the youth of the two countries can contribute a lot to the friendship between the two peoples.
The forum provided a platform for young politicians and young political leaders to meet and discuss matters together, Kinretti said. Young political leaders play an important role in maintaining, developing and leading the future direction of inter-party relations. It is important to strengthen exchanges and joint learning among young politicians from different political parties in order to deepen mutual understanding and to pass on the friendship created by the older generation of leaders.
