What does this course cover?
The course "Kindergarten Games" is a compulsory professional course in early childhood education that combines theory and practice with vocational skills. It consists of a total of 36 class hours. Through learning, you can gradually establish a correct understanding of games, children, and education.
By studying this course, you will gain knowledge about the classification, connotation, and value of kindergarten games, as well as methods for setting up and evaluating environments. You will understand and master the organisation and guidance of different types of games. The course is designed based on your current cognitive characteristics and learning habits, aiming to "effectively enhance the competence in supporting and guiding children's play activities" by using a practical teaching model that integrates theory with practice, progressively implemented in layers to ensure the practical application of knowledge.
The course is optimised into four modules, 17 tasks, and four professional abilities (design, organisation, guidance, evaluation) according to the course characteristics and actual kindergarten needs. Based on common types of kindergarten games, including creative and rule-based games, it elaborates on six types of games: role play, construction, performance, physical, intellectual, and music games. Through pre-class self-learning, exploring new knowledge during class, and post-class consolidation, you will systematically study early childhood education theory and methods. Using real kindergarten photos, cases, videos, and other resources, you will write game activity plans and simulate practice in organizing children for activities, continuously enhancing your awareness of your role as an early childhood education practitioner.
